Retrofit Assessor (PAS 2035)
Retrofit Assessments.
Understand the whole building before you insulate, upgrade or change the heating, so improvements work and do not create new problems.
Retrofit work done without a proper assessment can cause more harm than good. Insulation added without thinking about ventilation, for example, can trap moisture and lead to condensation and mould.
A Retrofit Assessment records the property's condition, construction, ventilation, energy use and how it is occupied. It gives a sound basis for planning improvements and is required for ECO4 and many other government-funded schemes, which follow the PAS 2035 retrofit standard.
Because we also carry out damp and mould investigations and thermal imaging, we look closely at moisture risk before any measures are recommended.
The assessment covers
- Building construction and condition
- Existing insulation, heating and hot water
- Ventilation and moisture risk
- Energy use and how the home is occupied
- Photographic record and measured survey
- Information for the retrofit coordinator and design
